‘Stand and Deliver’ To learn the information on how the Nazis affected people’s lives, we are going to do a ‘Stand and Deliver’. Workers – Number 1 Social Life – Number 2 Young People – Number 3 Jews – Number 4 REMEMBER You have got 4 minutes to learn the information on your sheet – you can only sit down when everyone has learnt the information – REMEMBER you need to teach the rest of your group what you have learnt!

‘Stand and Deliver’ Now return to your group. ‘Nazi Germany’ Write the heading ‘Nazi Germany’ in the middle of your mind map. All four members of the group are going to teach everyone else their information – fill in your mind map with the information you are given. 6 headings There will be 6 headings in total, make sure you have enough room! The other 2 (Nazi Control and Rebellion) will be added at the end.

For Workers… full employment. The Nazi party achieved full employment. nobody in Germany was unemployed. This meant nobody in Germany was unemployed. public works, the military and factories. For Young People… ‘Nazified’ only learn Nazi approved content. Schools were ‘Nazified’, meaning young people could only learn Nazi approved content. Hitler Youth League of German Maidens The Hitler Youth and League of German Maidens were set up which were made compulsory in 1939. discipline, sport and promoting Nazi ideas Both education and youth groups focused on discipline, sport and promoting Nazi ideas e.g. Aryan supremacy, hatred of Jews…

For Jews… segregated in schools Star of David Jews were segregated in schools, public facilities and had to wear a Star of David. Kristalnacht: Kristalnacht: Jewish shops and people attacked by Hitler’s SA. Anti-Jewish propaganda Anti-Jewish propaganda in posters and schools. concentration camps Jews sent to concentration camps and made to work before eventually being killed in gas chambers. Nazi Control… Gestapo Gestapo (secret police) spied on normal people. arrested for speaking against Nazis. No freedom of speech, arrested for speaking against Nazis.
