By changing the lifestyles and everyday life of homes that suffer from domestic violence, the kids in our society have a better hope of not following in the same footsteps as their parents, neighbors, or even friends’ parents. Children learn most of their behavior from what they see and hear from inside their homes. By stopping domestic violence, we could ultimately keep it from occurring in future generations.

Abusers are good at making excuses for the inexcusable. They can blame their behavior on a bad day, bad childhood, and even the victims of abuse. Victims are fearful what could happen if they leave. They make excuses for the abuser’s behavior. Children do not understand the meaning of the abuse they observe.
