What is a Model? A model is any representation of something; i.e. different ways to showing the same thing Types of models: Verbal, Graphs, Diagrams, Equations

When will we be modeling? You will be modeling often through out the year. We will be doing a process called Whiteboarding

Whiteboarding You will represent your lab findings in different ways on your whiteboard. Picture Equation Verbal

Whiteboard Presentations Everyone will present their whiteboards! Be prepared to discuss how you got your answers Since we are all presenting it is very important that we are all respectful of each other. Zero tolerance if anyone makes any comments to hurt anyone!

Asking Questions Everyone will ask questions of each other Leading Questions Vs. Good Questions Leading questions typically have the answer in them; For example; Do you think the answer might be 2? A good question will help the person to describe the thinking that went into their answer; For example; What did you do to come to that answer?

Credit Participation in whiteboarding activities will be counted for participation credit Whiteboard grades can not be made up; if you’re not here, you don’t get the points Extra Credit You can get extra credit coupons from me for great questions or great whiteboards You can staple earned extra credit on to any assignment
