Along the way, they learn valuable professional and personal skills that help prepare them for life after high school, whether it’s in college, the workforce or the military. 2,720 Total number of local students served in CTE programs over the past eight years

4 CGRESD will ask voters to consider a 10-year, 1-mill request to maintain and improve current CTE programs and introduce new in-demand courses for students from Beaverton, Clare, Harrison, Farwell and Gladwin Cost to taxpayers If your home is worth $50,000, it will cost you $25 per year If your home is worth $75,000, it will cost you $38 per year If your home is worth $100,000, it will cost you $50 per year On the Ballot May 3

7 Of the state’s 56 intermediate school districts, the CGRESD ranks: 50th in millage collected 47th in tax revenue per pupil ($508, compared to the state average of $806) Tied for last in CTE revenue per pupil at $0; among ISDs that have a CTE millage, the average is 1.48 mills; the CGRESD request is 1.0 mills 15th largest in square miles; coupled with the geographically dispersed nature of our classrooms, it becomes clear why transportation costs are an ongoing issue SOURCE: Michigan Department of Education How Do We Compare to State ISDs?

8 Last year, CTE students from Clare and Gladwin Counties achieved the sixth-highest graduation rate (98.6 percent) among Michigan’s 54 CTE programs In January, 80% of the Automotive students passed the Automotive Service Excellence test for electrical/electronic systems Despite economic disadvantages, our CTE students excel against their more affluent peers 61% (121 students) of spring 2015 CTE graduates enrolled in Mid Michigan Community College The Good News
