An autobiography written by Dave Pelzer. A Child Called “It”
2
New York Times and USA Today’s best selling book A Child Called “It”, is an inspirational story of one child’s courage to survive. This book is an autobiography written by Dave Pelzer about his horrific childhood. He talks about the unbelievable abuse he endured from the people who once loved him. The main person who made his life a true living hell was his own mother. For years she thought up new ways to torture him including starvation, making him sleep in a cold basement, making him her personal slave, and giving him relentless beatings. The terrible thing is that those were the lightest “punishments” he got from her. To learn about the darkest things he was put through you must read this heart retching book. I wouldn’t say this was a “good book” but it is a very eye opening book and would suggest that only mature people read it. The book is very well written and has literally a lot of painful details. All in all I would rate this book 4 and a half stars out of 5. I would give it 5 stars but the book is to depressing for me to be able to do that.Dave Pelzer
