Understanding the Sporting Landscape From Government Policy to local delivery partners We’ve spoke with a range of Sporting bodies Understood their needs, direction and how they can help us Built an understanding of how we can work together to achieve a common aim. Case Study Represents the body of sport and recreation in the UK and more than 320 members – organisations like The FA, RFU UK Athletics and British Rowing. SRA speak up on our behalf, represent our views and to provide them with services which make their life easier. This has allowed us to understand the current sporting landscape, future direction and demands

We’ve consulted with our members and a range of sporting bodies Understood their needs and how we need to support this in growing our sport By understanding this we can be best place to provide the required intervention Drivers- What do people want? EKA Members Input 2008 EKA Development Report 2010 Two Competition Forums 2011 Members surveyed Department of Culture, Media & Sport Address falling participation rates in sport Tackle high numbers of young people turning away from sport Create a new generation of community and elite sports facilities Re-energise competitive sport in schools Re-establish the UK’s reputation as a home of world-class sport Sport England Need to improve Good Governance Focus on what people really want Reward success in sustain and growing participants We’ve developed a clear view of the demands of our members and the main sporting bodies

Vision and Priorities Through understanding the sporting landscape and the demands of our members We developed our vision for korfball And the key priorities required to deliver it. We have now outlined our Vision and Priorities for the next 5 years

Output & Objectives- Measures of Success The success of our plan will be measured on being able to meet key output targets. These targets will drive all of England Korfball activities

Key Priorities Priorities going forward to meet our vision These priorities will take centre stage for everyone involved in korfball. The priorities and programmes will be delivered over a range of 1 to 5 year programmes.

Reach 10,000 (R10K) England Korfball will.. Grow membership within current clubs Establish new clubs Target schools, colleges and universities Improve club’s health through enhanced governance Recruitment best practice Develop individual opportunities for members Objective Goal 10,000 Active members playing Korfball

Increase affiliated Clubs and national coverage England Korfball will.. Develop Volunteer Recruitment and Training initiatives Attract and retain 16-25 year old participants Target growth in specific areas Grow the number of further/higher institutes Improve governance through clubs health Objective Goal 100 Affiliated Clubs Significant presence in all nine Sport England regions.

Develop a world class coaching and learning programme Develop a single pathway for workforce Invest in and train management, officials & volunteers Develop delivery partners Deploy good governance & leadership from “bench to board ” Objective Goal 900+ Qualified Coaches 350+ Qualified Officials Skilled and experienced board and management to deliver our vision 500+ Volunteers

Develop a five year strategy and action plan Deploy effective policies, structure and procedures Inform, promote and engage members ensuring transparency and accountability Develop strategic partnerships and links with key stakeholders Deploy rigorous assessment and evaluation in order to achieve our vision Develop strong leadership, administration and management Objective Goal Adopt principles of ‘Good Governance’ Sport England recognition as a ‘Developing Sport’

Grow our revenues England Korfball will.. Build a strong brand and awareness of Korfball. Grow our participation numbers at all levels. Focus on schools and higher/further education growth. Focus on the 7-15 & 16-25 age groups. Develop individual proposition for members. Create long term partnerships with people, agencies and sporting bodies. Objective Goal Develop new sustainable income streams Targeted investment to grow participation
