What is Intellectual Wellness? Intellectual wellness refers to active participation in scholastic, cultural, and community activities. Life-long learning through your formal education and informal life experiences. It is the ability to open your mind to new ideas and experiences, improve your skills and seek challenges.

Value creativity, curiosity, and lifelong learning Willingness to share your knowledge and skills Intellectual wellness helps keep your mind sharp as you age Assists to identify potential problems and choose appropriate courses of action based on available information than to wait, worry, and contend with major concerns later.

How to Improve Intellectual Wellness  Improve Study Skills Review study materials within 24 hours of class to keep it fresh in your memory Take notes while you read, while in class, and focus on more than what is written on the board Form a study group session with other people in your class Study in a quiet environment that will not distract you Color coding helps trigger memory - keep one topic per color Find innovative ways to study that work for you

Improve Time Management Make a "To-Do" list that allows you to cross off completed tasks as you go. Reading, especially something you enjoy, can improve your intellect by stretching your mind to think about things you normally don’t think about! Debate an issue with a friend, but choose the viewpoint opposite the one you hold. Focusing attention on information that is different than your beliefs can improve intellectual wellness.. When you expose the mind to opposing ideas, it expands the mind to grasp new information.

Board games and cards are popularly known as leisure activities. These activities can also help with your intellectual wellness

Play a musical instrument. Music has a powerful impact on our minds. Playing a musical instrument can increase intellectual wellness by learning how to create sounds, make patterns through music. Write down your thoughts or journal frequently. Taking the time to write down thoughts. Being able to identify your feelings and understanding yourself more and your actions increase intellectual wellness by exposing your mind to deeper thinking.
