5. Counseling Vision Statement The Couch Middle School counseling program will help students maximize their potential to become effective leaders at home, work, and community. Our program is designed to equip students with the necessary skills to be empathetic, compassionate, honest, and loyal to themselves and others. As a result, students will become contributing members of our ever changing world, accepting of cultural diversity, responsible citizens, self-empowered, and successful lifelong learners.

6. Counseling Mission Statement The mission of the Couch Middle School Counseling Program is to provide a comprehensive developmentally age-appropriate guidance and counseling program, which is accessible to all students regardless of race, religion, and economic status. Certified professional school counselors will inspire students to be academically successful, self-motivated, and respectful members of the community, the country, and ultimately the world through core curriculum lessons, small groups, and individual counseling.

Program Goals Goal #1 - based on PBIS data shown above and teacher survey: By May 20, 2015, the number of minor incidences of all students at Couch Middle will decrease by 200. Goal #2 - based on survey, teachers recommendation, grades: By the end of each semester, the class average of students who have been identified by their teachers and/or the Student Support Team (SST) as lacking organizational and study skills based on low class grades, low test scores, and teachers’ observations will increase by 10 points.
