MAKE-UP Two Countries: United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (we just call it United Kingdom, or UK) Republic of Ireland (all except the northern part of the island)

So….. British Isles = U.K. and Republic of Ireland U.K. = Great Britain and Northern Ireland Great Britain = England, Wales, Scotland England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland are countries (also sometimes called autonomous regions), and they make up the larger “mega” country of the U.K.

GOVERNMENT Ireland = Republic A republic is a form of government in which the people, or some significant portion of them, have supreme control over the government and where offices of state are elected or chosen by elected people. U.K. = Constitutional Monarchy Who is their monarch? Who’s next in line? Who’s after that? Who is the Prime Minister?
