2 MISSION STATEMENT The mission of the Camden County Road Department is to maintain the public roads and bridges of Camden County. This is to be accomplished in a safe, environmentally sound, and economical manner.

3 The Road Department is to carry out the mission using: Policies approved by the Camden County Board of Commissioners. Policies and Procedures of the Georgia Department of Transportation. Georgia Law and Regulation. Federal Law and Regulation. Best Management Practices.

7 Camden County Road Types (continuation) Minor Rural Collectors Definition: Accumulates traffic from the local road system and transfers it to the major rural collectors. Rural Local Road System Definition: Primarily provides access to the land adjacent to the collector network and serves travel over short distance.

8 Camden County Bridges 43 Bridges in the system - 1 ea closed Temple Creek - 2 ea 3 ton load limit - 16 ea with load restriction between 10 ton and 20 ton - 3 ea not inspected by DOT Bridge replacement will probably exceed $85,000.00 each.
