TEST TOPICS: Sec. 4.1 – 4.3 Sec. 4.1: Inverse Functions –Determine whether functions are inverses Find their compositions Functions with restricted domains –Determine if a function is one-to-one –Determine the inverse of one-to-one functions –Find the inverse of a function; graph the function and its inverse on the same set of axes.
3
TEST TOPICS: Sec. 4.1 – 4.3 Sec. 4.2: Exponential Functions –Solve exponential equations –Use the interest formulas to find future values, present values, interest rates, and times. – Solve exponential growth/decay problems.
4
TEST TOPICS: Sec. 4.1 – 4.3 Sec. 4.3: Logarithmic Functions –Evaluate logarithmic expressions –Solve logarithmic equations when the variable is – the base the exponent the argument –“Break apart” logarithmic statements – “Build” logarithmic statements –Use given logarithmic values to evaluate expressions

TEST TOPICS: Sec. 4.1 – 4.3 The review sheet is not all-inclusive. –The test will have interest questions (compound & continuous, similar to the quiz). You will be able to use a graphing calculator for these. –The test will also have evaluating expressions from given logarithmic values, similar to the last two sections of the NOTES sheet for sec. 4.3. You will be allowed to use only a 4-function calculator for this part.)
