1 The Life Cycle of a Drone By: Bridget and Carina

2 Drone egg The drone takes around three days to hatch, this is the drone in an egg cell.

3 Drone Larvae The drone development out of the larva takes about nine days, when they are larva they are fed bee bread.

4 Cell Capped Drone Bee This is a drone bee cell capped. The drone is cell capped for ten days. You are not supposed to touch the bees while they are cell capped.

5 The Drone in it’s Cell So this is the drone emerging from it’s cell, it stays in it’s cell for 24 days.

6 Drone Bee Pupa This is the drone when it’s a pupa inside it’s cell. It takes 24 days until emergence.

7 The Drone Bee Fertility This is the drone bee helping the queen lay eggs after it’s emergence. It takes approximately 38 days.

8 The Drone Bee This is what the drone looks like after it’s cycle. The length of it’s body is 15 – 17 mm and it’s hatching weight is nearly 200 mg. The drone will continue on helping the queen and helping defend the hive.
