1 Post Card Painting Today we will create a design for a postcard.

2 How do we begin? Brain Storming: Use Internet Explorer and Google Images to find a picture of a location that you would like to paint. Make sure that your picture is not to detailed, you want to be able to recreate the picture in Paint. Raise your hand to OK with Ms. McCormack and then print out the photo. 3 Painting Process… After selecting a picture to work with, go to the start menu and select the Paint program. If it does not appear on your start menu, then you must click on all programs and you will find it in the Accessories folder. 6 Exploring Paint Continued You may choose to use several different kinds of brushes in your painting. You can also change the thickness of your line, as well as the color. 8 Exploring Paint Continued Other tools available to use are: -Pencil (you may use this instead of a brush tool.) -Fill Bucket (use this to fill in large areas with color.) -Text (use this to add words in your picture.) -Eraser (use this to erase mistakes or you can use the Undo arrow at the top left of your screen.) -Color Picker (choose a color from your picture and use it for painting.) -Magnifier (use this to change the magnification of objects in your painting.) 9 Create your picture! Use the photo you have printed out to help you create a painting for your postcard. Use different colors and brushes to paint your picture. Don’t forget to use other tools like the Fill Bucket and Text. Make sure you add some text to your painting. When you finish, raise your hand and Ms. McCormack will check your work. After Ms. McCormack has Oked your painting you must save it: -Go to File -Then Save As -Then find your H drive (it has your name on it) -Open up your Digital Art Folder -Save the file name as Yourlastname_postcard, then hit the Save button Use the photo you have printed out to help you create a painting for your postcard.
