A multimeter is tool that measures electrical currents. It is a combination of many different measurements in one tool.
3
A multimeter is used to measure the current, voltage or the resistance of an instrument. It can measure these things on a number of different measurements.
4
There are several different steps in using a multimeter. The first step is setting the device to ohms or resistance. The next step is to hook the black wire to the negative symbol on the device. Next, hook that red wire to the “R” symbol on the device. Then you set the range of measurement that you want to use. Hold the ends of the wire together. The next step is to measure the resistance of an item. For example, a light bulb. (make sure that it is a working light bulb.)

The main settings of a multimeter are Resistance DC current DC voltage AC voltage
