5. READ A SONNET Sonnet=a poem that is 14 lines long, has ten syllables per line, and rhymes Discuss: How does this remind you of Romeo and Juliet? Mark some imagery. Which images stand out to you? How does the poem make you feel? How does the writer feel? How is this poem different from the slam poem and “Introduction to Poetry?”

6. LET’S DEFINE POETRY A piece of writing that is meant to express feelings and ideas through the use of imagery, techniques, and a special style. It is usually not written in sentences.
