5 Armenian Genocide Issue: –A group called “The Young Turks” took over the Ottoman Empire and began to eliminate any non-Turkish people.

6 Armenian Genocide –Armenians were falsely accused of joining the Ottoman’s enemy (Russia) in World War One.

7 Turkish soldiers stand proudly with the heads of Armenian leaders.

8 Armenian Genocide Outcome: –2 million Armenians killed. –Thousands more = refugees.

9 –To this day, the Turkish government denies that the genocide ever took place.
