Bay of Pigs Shortly after taking office, Kennedy approved U.S. training of Cuban rebels to overthrow Fidel Castro When the invasion occurred all went wrong and the U.S. was exposed for plotting to overthrow the Cuban government.

The Great Society …reality Many opposed the growth of government & its spending When the Vietnam War began, there was a lack of funding to support both the war and these programs HUD, Medicaid, Medicare, & head Start have been successes and are in existence still today
