3. 27SEP2008Calo Running and Operation Monday Meeting - Xvc3 fwInstallation – new procedure From now on, a new central installation of the fwInstallation Tool will be used It means that subdetectors do not have to care about it any more (unzip of new versions), it will be done centralized and common for everybody. The local copy of the fwInstallation was removed (panels, scripts, etc) and a new path was included in your projects config: /group/online/ecs/NewPVSSShortcutProjects/GlobalProject If you want to install something, be aware that now you should look for the installation panel in this new path. Please do NOT modify anything that is in this path. In every project, there is a control manager fwInstallationAgent that connects to a database and keeps control of the project info. In order to avoid the registration in the database of development projects (e.g TEMPORARY_ITECS, OTDCS_Dev), everytime you want to copy a (control) project to a different name, BEFORE doing it, set this manager to manual and STOP it. And everytime you see a pop-up window asking you "This project is not registered in the database, do you want to register it now?" You should say: NO
