2. CRUST: The outermost layer of the earth The thinnest layer Solid
Made of Silicon (Si), Oxygen (O), and Aluminum (Al)
Two types of crust: oceanic, continental
Oceanic is thinner, continental is thicker

3. Still CRUST: It is part of the Lithosphere.
Lithosphere: crust and upper mantle
Divided into tectonic plates

4. MANTLE Largest layer Plastic-like
Contains a lot of Magnesium (Mg), Si and O.
No one has ever drilled into the mantle.

5. Still MANTLE: It is part of the Asthenosphere.
Convection currents cause UPLIFT, moving molten rock closer to the crust/surface.
Tectonic plates move around on the mantle.

6. THE CORE Mostly composed of iron and nickel Outer core: LIQUID
Inner core: SOLID (very, very dense)
