www.enoport.com “Quinta do Boição”, Boição Estate (in the map bellow). The «Quinta do Boição» is located in Bucelas. The wine estate has a total area of 32 hectares of which 24 ha are planted with vineyards. Soils are mainly of poor and hard limestone with a climate quite cold during the winter, but warm and dry in the summer and with some humidity during the night, thus creating a micro climate favourable to the perfect balance between sugars and acidity and confering it some vivacity quite characteristic of the white wines of the region. The «Quinta do Boição» has a modern winemaking centre with capacity for 500.000 liters of wine. It is equipped with a stemmer, tube exchanger to cool the must, two modern pneumatic presses and all vats are in stainless steel with temperature control and equipped with casing fro water circulation. The storage of the wine is done in stainless steel vats, but there is also and area for the ageing of high quality wines in oak barrels.
