9.  Each new NQ course requires 160 hours. Provides sufficient time for each subject.  Prevents “eating into” the Broad General Education.  Allows for specialisation.  Supports increased depth of study  More manageable internal assessment load.

10.  Increases the choice of subjects and the combination of subjects on offer.  Allows for efficiency when timetabling.  More flexible progression routes.  Allows S5/6 students to do 5 subjects for 6 periods.  Maintains Inverclyde’s consortium arrangements
