The Buckingham Palace Built in 1705 for the Duke of Buckingham. It is the largest private garden in London. It has 775 rooms. Became the royal palace of the British Monarch in 1837.

Windsor Castle Originally built in the 11 th century. Largest inhabited castle in the world. Queen’s favourite weekend home. Remains as an important ceremonial location. Located in Berkshire.

Holyrood Palace The Queen spends one formal week at the palace in the summer. Located in Edinburgh. The Palace has served as the principal residence since 16 th century.

Some Facts The naked ghost of Bald Agnes is said to roam Holyrood Palace. After the death of prince Albert, Queen Victoria was sometimes referred to as the “Widow of Windsor”. When Her Majesty is in one of the residences, you can see the royal flag flying from the flag pole.
