Safety Fire Drills – line up on ramp, silent, single file out side door, stay together Lock Down –under desks, silent until released Equipment – follow all safety rules and precautions or lose privileges to use materials White Board – check for daily and weekly activities Storage bins – use to hold current work and notes Cleaning – everyone participates every day Prepared for class – always have a pencil, notes, and be ready to work Supply buckets – what should you have? This course is Pass/Fail To receive a PASS you must earn at least a 60% With few grades going into the grade book, EVERY grade counts NO missing work! GRADING Projects are graded on: Following Directions Use of Techniques Creativity Effort Craftsmanship The system is a system. 10/10 = Very Well Done 8.5/10 = Well Done - Learning Goals Accomplished 7/10 = Completed with some areas that could be improved

Late Work I expect work to be turned in on time. If you cannot finish a work on time, communicate with me the reasons, a solution, and when you will turn it in. Absences Your are responsible for making up all assignments when you are absent. If you are absent on the day a project is due, you are responsible for remembering to turn it in as soon as you return.

Treat others the way they would want to be treated Take care of classroom materials and supplies Keep the classroom clean Talk only when appropriate and keep the volume level appropriate Come prepared to work and to learn Pay attention and follow instructions

Learn how to Think Introduce you to the world of art. Learn how to look at, talk about, and write about art Study the Art of M.C. Escher, Georgia O’Keefe, and the Renaissance artists. Create contour, abstract, value, and perspective drawings of people, objects, and places. Create ceramic pieces using pinch, slab, and coil techniques. Use watercolors and tempera paints to study color and techniques while creating paintings. Study and use the following styles: Realism, Abstract, figural, functional, and more! Study Careers in Art And………………………………..HAVE FUN!
