Ephesus had a lot of evil spirits and magic When the gospel came, many burned their magic books and repented of their evil ways Timothy ministered at Ephesus (I Tim. 1:3) Paul taught boldly for three months in the synagogue in Ephesus Paul taught for 2 years at school of Tyrannus Evil spirits left and people were healed just from aprons and handkerchiefs that had touched Paul

Israel chose to disobey and they suffered the consequences To love God is to follow His commands Mark 12 Greatest commandment: Love God Second greatest: love your neighbor I Cor. 13 No love: deeds/works are worthless Acts 2, 4 &5 The church was of one heart and soul and loved God above all else John 15 If you love God you will keep His commands

I John Do not love the world or the things in the world James 4:4 Friendship with the world is adultery Ez. 6:9 God is hurt by adulterous hearts and eyes God’s heart is hurt when we as believers temporarily choose the world over Him

Jesus will grant him to eat of the tree of life in the Paradise of God Connection between Jesus’ description of Himself, the problem and the promise? 1. Those who remember, repent and do are the ones who love God and are overcomers. 2. Those who don’t, don’t receive the promise of life in the Paradise of God 3. Leaving their first love is a matter of life and death.

Is this saying you can lose your salvation by walking away? No. But motive shows the heart’s condition Why do you live as a Christian? What is your heart’s motive/desire? To please God and become more and more like Him by obeying His Word, which transforms you into the likeness of Christ? We are to have the mind of Christ.
