ŞEHİT MUSTAFA AKBAŞ PRIMARY SCHOOL COMENIUS MULTILATERAL SCHOOL PROJECT QUESTIONNAIRE REPORT FOR THE END OF THE PROJECT

LET’S CHECK OUR STUDENTS’ ANSWERS

For the first question 70% of the students answered “No”, we think that this answer is related with the lack of technology in the area.

Some of the students have relatives and friends living abroad.

According to our students, in most of the schools in the project; it is allowed to listen to music and bring their cellphones to the school. The securities against drug use can be found. Most of the schools have private classrooms for each branch. In most schools it is allowed not to wear school uniforms.

For the 5th question the answers are; -Italian, Polish, Romanian, Estonian and Hungarian languages. -Beautiful Churches of Romania and Italy, the Arts of Poland, the beautiful school building and the skaters around in Estonia, The energy of clean nature and the big river in Hungary.

For the question about the traditions of the partner schools’ countries, they think that Romanian clothes are similar to our clothes. In all countries, pork is eaten. All of the partner countries have funny national dances and our students like them.

CULTURE/ IDENTITY Differences between the other European Countries and our country -Eu countries put sugar in some food that we eat only with salt. -Mineral water with gas is common among the Eu countries. -They don’t eat bread as much as we eat.

Answers for the similarities are these; All countries have their own food, they have a national language, their own folk dances, traditions and living styles. The ideas of our students about the cultures of the Eu countries have changed during the project.

DEMOCRACY/ ACTIVE CITIZENSHIP -They vote for choosing the student representatives of the school. -And in the country they have the right to vote for governmental changes. -In the classroom they raffle to choose the best decisions.

They think that the knowledge about other countries’ children help them think globally and sometimes be a model for the better.

They would like to see the education system in their country. For example; flexible clothes in the school, free music devices, special classes for each branch and better conditions.

They think that the project has raised their knowledge about democratic system. They also feel themselves more involved in the issues in the society. They would like to be involved in making decisions in the level of Democratic Society.

LET’S SEE HOW OUR TEACHERS AND I THINK Culture/ Identity

The differences between the partner countries are Language, Religion, Culture, Life and Economy. We would like to adapt the social life, education system and opportunities and nature care of the partner countries. Our ideas about intercultural issues have changed during the project.

Democracy/ Active Citizenship In the field of education, we share ideas, share our knowledge and try to find the best and the most suitable. In terms of dicipline, the regularity and cleannes, we think that the students in other countries have an effect on our decisions.

We want to see the discipline, the sports field or gym for the school, the change of the physical condition of the school, and a swimming pool in our school. The project raised our knowledge about democratic system. We feel more involved in the issues about our society and we would like to take part in the field of decision making.

European Union The importance of cooperation The results of the cooperation with the European Union, we gained knowledge and ability in; - The importance of the environment. -Raising and development of educational standards, -The development of communicative skills, -Sharing, -Standardisation, -The importance of cultural differences,

The disadvantage is that adapting a new system and applying it is not possible to achieve in all parts of a country. The conditions and economy play a big role in this issue.

Motivation Short term: -We are happy to take part in such a nice and useful project, -We all feel more involved in the school activities, -We want everybody has the chance to take part in European Union Projects, -We would like to work more for these type of developmental projects.

Long Term: We all attended the visits, Tried to gain new skills and achieved our goals, Made new starts as more as we can to teach and be a model in a better way, We achieved these by working with cross- cirricular plans, Tried to change our way of teaching as much as the conditions allowed us, We now feel more involved in the school at the end of the project.
