Dixon PH / DT Vladimir Elsha JINR Straw working group meeting Monday 6th April 2011 CERN5 Future coating and deliveries Coating is scheduled at Fraunhofer FEP in week 17 (26 April) All material will be coated with an option for an extra 300 metres. To be coated: 5 x 300 metres length, this gives 18 x 5 spools (90 spools) JINR 75 – 85 straws per spool. (6750 – 7650 straws ) Sefar 100 straws per spool. (9000 straws) Option for 1350 – 1800 extra tubes. Slitting week 18 in Puetz Folien. CERN week 19 (9 May 2011)

Sefar supplied straws (March 2011) under storage at CERN. (under Pressure) 80 straws under pressure ( 16 days only ) 1 damaged in manipulation 7 small leaks at “O” ring 40 under pressure ready for measurement today, 40 with valves ready for 3 bar (absolute) test. 90 to have valves fitted.

A contract is in place with Sefar for 750 tubes to be delivered in batches, starting April 2009. JINR have produced over 500 tubes, 190 of which are fitted with CERN type storage valves.
