Use the passive voice when the doer of an action is not known or is not important. Use the passive voice with by when the doer of the action is important. For example, 1. The TV was introduced in 1920s. 2. Computers are used at school these days. 3. A library has been built for the community. For example, 1. The planes were invented by the Wright brothers. 2.
