What is Passive Voice? Passive voice is a voice we use to tell the perspective of the object not the subject. I love you. You are loved by me.

When we use it? We use this tense when the object of the sentence is unknown or unimpotant. Unkown: Somebody killed Mr. Smith. Mr. Smith was killed. Not important: The robber named John Smith robbed the bank The bank was robbed.

Present Simple Passive Voice Formula: Object+present simple+V3 I visit Ms. Hoffman’s office. Ms. Hoffman’s office is visited by me. I eat a sandwich. A sandwich is eaten by me.

Past Simple Passive Voice Formula: Object+Past tense+V3 I visited Ms. Hoffman’s office. Ms. Hoffman’s office was visited by me. I ate a sandwich. A sandwich has been eaten by me.

Metaphor Passive voice is like war. Nobody cares about who does it. What happpens and it’s affects on others are more important.
