2 What is Passive Voice?  Passive voice is a voice we use to tell the perspective of the object not the subject.  I love you.  You are loved by me.

3 When we use it?  We use this tense when the object of the sentence is unknown or unimpotant.  Unkown:  Somebody killed Mr. Smith.  Mr. Smith was killed.  Not important:  The robber named John Smith robbed the bank  The bank was robbed.

4 Present Simple Passive Voice  Formula: Object+present simple+V3  I visit Ms. Hoffman’s office.  Ms. Hoffman’s office is visited by me.  I eat a sandwich.  A sandwich is eaten by me.

5 Past Simple Passive Voice  Formula: Object+Past tense+V3  I visited Ms. Hoffman’s office.  Ms. Hoffman’s office was visited by me.  I ate a sandwich.  A sandwich has been eaten by me.

6 Metaphor  Passive voice is like war. Nobody cares about who does it. What happpens and it’s affects on others are more important.
