2. Targets. So what! Evidence from research gives clear information on the factors which make schools and classrooms effective in promoting student achievement. These factors include: a shared vision and aims; high expectations of what each student can achieve; concentration on learning and teaching; monitoring of individual student progress. “The odds of hitting your target go up dramatically when you aim at it.” We will be reviewing some targets for some students prior to Xmas. These targets will form the basis of all teaching, monitoring and intervention. They will be reinforced at school and (hopefully) at home.

8. What can you do to help? Control their FREDS Fitness / Relaxation / Energy / Diet / Sleep Exercise Help them plan their time – manageable chunks of time and work back from deadlines Eat sensibly with a balanced diet Ensure they get enough sleep and rest Encourage goals/reward Let them out with friends
