AGENDA WARM UP LESSON 66 CORRECTIONS LESSON 67 QUESTIONS LESSON 68 EXIT CARD

WARM-UP Find the probability for one roll of a number cube. 1. P(less than 4) 2. P(multiple of 3)

LESSON 67 QUESTIONS??

LESSON 68: MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE AND INCLUSIVE EVENTS What are the possible outcomes if you roll 2 separate number cubes? How could we set up a table to display the results?

MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE EVENTS If A and B are mutually exclusive events (cannot both occur in the same trial), then P(A or B) = P(A) + P(B) Ex: Find the probability of rolling either a sum of 7 or a sum of 12 using two different number cubes?

MUTUALLY INCLUSIVE EVENTS If A and B are inclusive events (they can both occur at the same time), then P(A or B) = P(A) + P(B) – P(A and B) What is the probability of rolling at least one even number or a sum of 10 using two number cubes?

A town contains 5890 people planning to vote for Gary, 6910 planning to vote for Randy and 10,050 planning to vote for Sandy. In a random gathering of 200 people, how many would you expect to be voting for Randy or Sandy?

Bruce has a bag of marbles. 13 are yellow, 16 are green, 23 are red, 8 are blue, and 6 are multicolor. The multicolored marbles are red and blue. If Bruce randomly selects a marble, what is the probability that the marble will have red or blue in it?

Lesson 68 A – D All. #1 – 11 All. CP: #27 Due Wednesday
