Joel Schofield joins us on 1 st May – Joel is originally from the area and previously worked at Purley Baptist Church. He will join us for Fellowship Lunch where we can get to know him a little better. Alex Dwebeng joins us from Spurgeon’s on the 8 th May. Graham Jefferson joins us on the 15 th May. Graham is from Worthing and was a Pastor at New Life Church for some 28 years. Habib Nader, Jihan’s father, will be joining us on the 22 nd May. We look forward to welcoming him to Monty Our Encounters with Jesus series is now well underway. We heard about John the Baptist and the disciples and their first encounter with Jesus. We explored the wedding at Cana and the clearing of the temple, very different kinds of encounter. During May, we often think about Jesus’ apostles and how they encounter the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. Such a supernaturally powerful event where God’s spirit arrives suddenly empowering the apostles to do many wonderful things. It is an exciting month ahead of us at Montpelier. Joel Schofield joins us on the 1 st May. We are discussing with Joel and his colleagues at Southside Baptist Church (Crystal Palace) : Andrew Bunnell and Nick Unger, about how our respective churches could work together to bring glory to God and blessing to our churches. It’s something that we all can pray about. We want to follow God’s path for Montpelier and we are excited about the developments. God’s Spirit is with us and we pray that His will be done, in Jesus’ name. Other Upcoming Events Wednesday 18th May 10:30 – 11:15am, then 11:30-12:15pm Dementia Information Session at Purley Baptist Church followed by another session titled “Supporting Someone with Dementia”. Wednesday 18th May @ 7.15 pm URC - Purley Youth Project have an “Open Evening” so pop along and find out what happens in giving support and entertaining the children with activities that help to keep these youngsters off the streets.
