3 Mood of the decade (cont.) Longest bull market in Wall Street history –More luxurious fashions are introduced as people have more money to spend. –More luxurious fabrics enter the market.

4 Women’s Fashions Most women worked outside of the home in very professional careers so they needed professional clothes called the “power suit” or pants suits. Some women wore adopted menswear styles and wore ties and button down shirts with their suit.

5 Mood of the decade (cont.) Street Fashions/Rapper influence –Hip-Hop style –Jeans, logo T-shirts, windbreakers, all oversized. –Oversized jewelry called “bling bling” –Athletic jerseys & sneakers Backpack purses-Prada

6 Grunge Look Lead singer of rock band Nirvana, Kurt Cobain, started the Grunge Look which was ripped, holy jeans, flannel shirts, long, stringy hair, Doc Martens.
