Interaction is an elicitation of willing pupil participation and initiative which requires a high degree of interpersonal communication skills. Brown indicates that interactive lessons have the following beneficial features: there is a large amount of pair and group work ; students engage themselves in spontaneous and authentic conversations; students work for actual audiences and purposes, not artificial ones; the task-based activities prepare students for the real world outside of the classroom.
