4. Begin with some simple, short-term goals. This will help you gain confidence and experience in goal setting. What can I do today, this week?

5. Goals need to be written down that are Measurable and Realistic. Writing them down will: Help keep them on your mind Increase your desire to achieve them How will I know that I have achieved my goal? Is it something that I have the means and motivation to achieve?

6. Goals should be Achievable Be sure your goals are reasonable and for something you are WILLING and ABLE to work for. With hard work, can I do this?

7. Set Time limits on reaching your goals. Set certain dates for a goal to be accomplished. However, sometimes you do have to change your dates or time lines At what date would I like to have achieved my goal?

8. Consider your values as you set goals. Is this something that is important to me? Will this benefit me in the future?

9. Goal Setting Sheet Pass out to each student a goal slip. Is it a SMART GOAL?

10. Goal Setting: Get a Driver’s License Own goal? My dream? Written down? Can I measure whether I received it or not? Short-term goals for today … to be able to drive tomorrow? Is it valuable to me? Can I achieve it? Time frame?
