Open Tutorial-3.mxd Save in MyExercises\Chaper3 Click Hyperlink tool and click state capitals of your choice Use Zoom in tool for map displays at various scales Explore other interactive properties of the map

Use a pre built layout template Open Tutorial3-2.mxd On Main Menu, click View and Layout View OR - On Main Menu, Customize, Toolbars, Layout Click Change Layout Button › Select USA tab › Select ConterminousUSA.mxd option › Finish Change title to “Asian Population by States in 2007”

Save a Layer File Open Tutorial3-2 and save as Tutorial3- Asians in MyExercises folder Right click Population in the TOC and save as layer file (StatePopulation.lyr) in MyExercises\Chapter3 folder

Verify Layout View Options Click view, layout View Customize, ArcMap Options, Layout View tab Check › Show scroll bars › Show horizontal guides › Show vertical guides › Show dashed line around active data frame › Rulers, show › Snap elements to Guides ok

Set up Layout Page Orientation and Size Right click anywhere with layout and click Page and Print Setup Select Paper size and Orientation in both Paper and Page panels Click OK Right click anywhere in layout and click Zoom Whole Page Button

Create and Use Guidelines in Layout View Click 8.5 in on top horizontal ruler to create blue vertical guide At 7 in on left vertical ruler Click map to select it. Right click, Properties, Size and Position tab Check ‘Preserve Aspect Ratio’, type 7.5 in Size Width field, press Tab key, OK Drag map to upper right corner at the intersection of two guides and release Use Zoom In button to increase the size of map within map element rectangle

Insert a Title Click Insert, Title Type Asian Population (2007) inside the text box and click OK Double Click on Title, Click Change Symbol, select 22 for size and click B (Bold) for style OK, OK again Center the title over the map

Insert a Legend Click Horizontal Ruler at 10.5 in and vertical at 1.5 in to create new guidelines Click Insert, Legend, Click Next 4 times and Finish Click, hold and drag legend to snap with new guidelines Click horizontal ruler at 9 in to create new vertical ruler Click top left grab handle of the legend and drag to right and down to make it smaller. Snap with 9 in vertical guideline

Insert a Scale Bar Click vertical Ruler at 1 in to create new horizontal guideline Insert, Scale Bar Click Scale Line 2, Properties Select Miles for division units and, OK, OK again Drag scale bar so that its top is at 1 in horizontal guideline and Right side at 8.5 in vertical guideline Drag the left side of scale bar to right until its width is 1,000 miles

Insert Text Click vertical ruler at 0.5 in Insert, Text Double Click on Text Box, Type Source: US Census Bureau, OK Drag so that its bottom left corner is at the intersection of 8.5 in vertical and 0.5 in horizontal guides Save map document

Use a Layer File Open Tutorial3-3.mxd Click View, Data View Right Click Population layer in TOC, Properties, Symbology and Import button Browse to StatePopulation.lyr and click OK In Import Symbology Matching box, click Value Field drop down arrow, click Black and OK View, Layout View Change map title to Black Population (2007) Save as Tutorial3-Blacks.mxd

Export Layouts as an image file Click File, Export Map, save in Chapter3 folder as jpg (use 300dpi for resolution) Using My Computer, browse to the folder where you saved layout image Open in any image viewer

Open Tutorial3-4.mxd Full Extent Button Save as Tutorial3-AsiansBlacks.mxd in Chapter3 folder In TOC, right click Layer icon, Properties, General and change name from Layers to Asians (do not click OK) Click Coordinate System tab, click Add to Favorites, OK

Insert, Data Frame Right click new data frame, Properties, General, change name to Blacks (do not click OK) Click Coordinate System tab, expand Favorites and press USA- Contiguous_Albers_Equal_Area_Conic, OK In Asians data frame, right click Population, copy and paste in Blacks data frame Change color gradient of Blacks Use Activate data frame using Activate

Setup Layout View View, Layout View Page and Print Setup, Size is letter, select Portrait radio buttons in Page and Paper frames, OK Click horizontal ruler at 0.5, 6.5, 6.8 and 8 in marks Vertical Ruler at 0.5, 5.4, 5.6, and 10.5 inch Place both Data Frame as shown in figure Add elements to layout (First Activate a data frame and add its elements then other data frame)

Export your layout as JPEG image in Chapter3 folder View it in any image viewer Look for similarities in the distribution of the two races

Open a map document Open Tutorial3-5.mxd Save as Tutorial3-AsiansReport.mxd in Chapter3 folder

Make a Selection of Report Right click Population layer and Open Attribute Table Sort ASIAN column in descending order With this order select first 10 records in the attribute table Look selected states in STATE_NAME column (California through Pennsylvania) Close attribute table

Create a Report Open Layout View Click, View, Report, Create Report In the Report Wizard dialogue box, click dataset options, the Selected Set option button, OK In the Available Fields box, double click STATE_NAME, ASIAN, POP2000 Click Next twice For sorting, select ASIAN for the field and Descending for the sort, click Next Click Monaco report format and Finish

Open Tutorial3-6.mxd Click View, Graphs and Create Make selection › Graph Type = Horizontal bar › Layer = Population › Value Field = ASIAN › Y Field = ASIAN, Ascending › Y Label = STATE_NAME › Vertical Axis = Left › Horizontal Axis = Bottom › Uncheck Add to Legend › Next

Make selection › Check “show only selected features on the graph” › Make other selections as well › Finish Right Click the graph, save as AsianTop10Graph.grf in Chapter3 folder Right Click the graph, Add to Layout and close graph window Place graph at some suitable location by snapping to some guidelines Save map AsianTop10Chart.mxd

Time Zone= GMT -5 Eastern Time US and Canada Check values are adjusted for daylight saving Click Calculate, OK

Set advance time properties of a layer Click Properties of CAD Calls Context, Time Tab Make selection › Check enable time on this layer › Layer time = Each Feature has start and end time › Start time field = CALLDATE › End Time field = EndDate › Time Step Interval = 1 day › Time Zone Calculate (change time step interval from 4 to 1) OK

Use Time Slider Window for advance viewing Tools, Open Time Slider window button Turn on CAD Calls Context layer Click Play button on slider Animation for July 30, 2009 will be played Save map document and close ArcMap
