About The Wellness Initiative The mission of The Wellness Initiative is to improve the physical health, social and emotional development, and academic performance of low-income youth through yoga- based wellness programs. This year we are serving:  2,300 students  37 schools  6 counties Impact on participants:  70% report improved strength  50% report an increase in self- confidence  50% report a reduction in stress  50% report practicing yoga outside of the classroom  50% report improved concentration  40% report an improvement in completing homework on time
