Book Week at St Teresa’s Primary School 1 st – 5 th March 2010

Parent volunteers came into each class to read a story in their native language. Each class enjoyed several stories over the week. The languages were: French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Polish &Turkish.

Each class enjoyed several stories over the week.

Sixth form pupils from the Holt School also came to read and act out stories in French and Spanish.

The Holt pupils read to the whole class and to small groups.

The Foundation stage enjoyed acting out ‘We’re going on a Bear Hunt’ in French.

The children wrote their own story books in French or Spanish, based on well-known stories, e.g. The Very Hungry Caterpillar; The Three Little Pigs and Handa’s Surprise.

On World Book Day, they dressed as a character from a book.

The Junior children were partnered with the Infant children and they shared their stories.

The best stories received an award from the Headteacher.

The children really enjoyed the experience and felt a great sense of achievement.
