1 Pre-process Design and Implementation of an Employee Satisfaction Survey at IIM Indore Prepared By Pratik Patel (2015PGP251) Naveen Tegar (2015PGP218) Rajat Kandere (2012IPM083) Objective behind this survey:  Employees are the most precious assets of any institution or organization. Motivation is a driving force on employees’ actions and work. A highly motivated team of employees helps in achieving the targets of an organization or institution.  Survey will be an important tool to assess levels of satisfaction across employee groups through feedback to identify broad as well as specific areas of concern for different employee groups by understanding & interpreting their views to carry out action planning in a structured and specific manner in order to enhance employee satisfaction  And our main objective is to design and implement Employee Satisfaction Survey at IIM Indore. Note: Employees will divided into two categories: (I) Academic & (II) Administrative Employees 1

2 Type of Work Workload Work Atmosphere Promotions Job Security Administration and Management Supervision/ Supervisor Behavior Behavior of co-workers Ethics / Fairness Reward – Recognition and Promotions Learning & Growth Freedom, Authority & Discretion The nature of job plays vital role in person’s self motivation Workload pressure hinders recreational work leading to high stress The ambience cost a lot to make the place workable Periodic career advancement gives social status Provide sense of connectedness to the organization Proper communication and transparency in the system A supervisor supports and encourages the employee at workplace It encourages team-work and social networking Fairness & ethics in process encourages transparency External motivation towards excellence and goal achievement Opportunities to outperform and enhanced learning People tend to take more positive initiatives 2  IIM Indore being one of the most premier management institute of India wants its employees to have a high degree of employee engagement. Keeping this into consideration our survey will focus on the following Twelve Major Areas dealing with the employee satisfaction.

3 About participant’s personal identity Identity should not be disclosed This is very important because it will help us to find out the real reactions of employees for given dimensions And if identity is disclosed then personal biases should not be included in judging people’s response About questions used in questionnaire The questionnaire should contain both open-ended & close-ended questions for accurate evaluation as per specific requirement DON’T ask open-ended questions unless necessary Usage of wording should be proper & specific so that there is no gap in understanding Questions should be properly ordered About action planning & implementation after survey results There must be proper action plan on problematic dimensions Even after recording any individual’s concern area through questionnaire – if we failed to take proper action then his dissatisfaction will increase leading to unrest Best 3 practices in Employee Satisfaction Surveys 3  Three important practices in Employee Satisfaction Surveys are as follows:
