2 Non-communicable diseases Diabetes: - Estimated prevalence 2-8% - 50% of amputations at the Haiti State University Hospital - 50% of the cases are not diagnosed Cardiovascular diseases: - 40% of admissions at the Haiti State University Hospital - 70% associated with HTA Injuries - 2,300 victims of injuries in 1997 - 380 deaths due to violence in 1997 No surveillance of NCDs in Haiti
