The nursing program must be currently approved without qualifications by the state agency that has legal authority for education programs in nursing (Minnesota Board of Nursing)  (POLICY #3: IS FOR INITIAL ACCREDITATION ONLY per phone conversation with Dr. Stoll 4/7/2016, you need to comply with Policy #3: 1 and 2 only for candidacy).  If you are under a corrective action with the BON, you can go into candidacy but must explain how you will be successful by your site visit.  There are 2 ACEN reviewers which will decide if they think you show that you are ready for candidacy status. 4 Important FACT: MBON and NCLEX pass rates

5  CNEA: Pre-accreditation candidacy applications will NOT be accepted from any program that has pending action, including warning or probationary status, against their operational authority within their state or territory.  This you will need to check with the Board of Nursing and with CNEA regarding. There are different actions that can come from low pass rates, so you’ll have to be in contact with each to see if this policy will affect you.  CNEA is an average of 80% over 3 years for NCLEX board pass rates. 5 Important FACT: MBON and NCLEX pass rates
