3. ABS has: Approx 125 academic & research staff Approx 80 administrative and support staff Of the academic staff: Approx 2/3 are male and 1/3 female Approx half of the academic staff were born in the UK and half overseas, making us a truly international business school ABS Staff

4. Academic Staff are organised into 6 academic groups: Economics & Strategy Operations & Information Management Finance & Accounting Marketing Work & Organisational Psychology Law

5. ABS Staff Administrative staff sit in a range of offices and departments including: The Undergraduate, Postgraduate and MBA Offices The Admissions Team Research and Doctoral Offices Marketing & Alumni Centre for Executive Development School Office Support for the 6 Academic Groups

6. ABS Staff events & meetings Every year, ABS holds the following events: Termly all staff briefings which include lunch. Annual AwayDay – this academic year being held on 4 th January 2013 Termly Strategic Insight Forums for new staff focusing on key issues Monthly Management Team meetings, minutes of which are published on the Staff Intranet Each department will also have regular meetings and briefings We want your involvement and for you to have an input into the teaching, research and other activities which take place within ABS.

ABS Students In 2011/12, ABS had: A total of 2933 undergraduate students of which:  750 were new undergraduate students  1753 were ‘Home/EU students’  650 were ‘Overseas’ students  515 were out on placement year  10% were over the age of 21 842 students studying generalist and specialist Masters of which 2/3rds were ‘overseas’ students 240 MBA students of which 64 were new and half ‘overseas’. 147 research students, representing 70+ countries

ABS Students ABS students : Come from a wide range of backgrounds and countries:  There is usually a 50/50 male/female split  5% have a declared disability  They represent 85 countries 50% of our undergraduates live in Aston accommodation, the remainder living at home or in their own place/private rental 40% of our Masters students live in Aston accommodation and only 9% of research students
