Water can hold onto energy for a long period of time. Thus transferring energy to colder latitudes making them milder. (like Ireland) Video Gulf Stream Effect If the Gulf Stream current stops flowing or slowed down, would it affect the climate? Watch the effect it would have on the climate.

Coastal cities are cooler do to the cold California Ocean Current Inland cities are warmer Large Body of water/Ocean Currents vs Inland Temperatures are taken in the summer Average the coastal city temperatures = 64 degrees Predict the inland temperatures on the same day! (warmer, colder, or the same) Average the inland city temperatures = 90 degrees Predict the coastal vs inland temperatures on the same day in the winter! Coastal cities would be warmer due to the ocean and current.
