3 Events since January include: –Jan. 30: Public meeting with over 150 attendees –March 1: Groundbreaking ceremony with over 250 attendees –March 22: Elected officials briefing Public Information/Outreach Update

4 Public Information/Outreach (cont’d) Public information and outreach efforts since January include: –12 presentations totaling approx. 400 attendees –2 newsletters distributed to just under 2,000 stakeholders –Continuously update website with construction information –Respond to information requests as needed –2 media advisories and 1 news release to over 400 members of the media resulting in coverage on local TV stations, the Denver Post, and Aurora Sentinel –Continuous coordination and meetings between RTD PI, Aurora PI and Kiewit PI –Ongoing outreach with businesses in active construction areas; next round planned end of March/early April –Established construction information line and email address (720-863-8505, I-225@rtd-fastracks.com)

5 The I-225 Rail Line will be featured in the Aurora History Museum’s “Green Revolution” exhibit April 9 to June 20. This text panel will be displayed with five additional panels including aerial maps of the I- 225 corridor and station locations. Aurora Library Display

6 I-225 Rail Line Status RTD, CDOT, SEMA and Kiewit are coordinating the transition of the first segment of construction to the full corridor construction –Segment 1 (Nine Mile to Iliff) E. Harvard Ave –Continue closure/detour set up by Aurora Water –Utility relocation and installation –Re-align road –Begin wall construction RTD, Kiewit and AECOM are coordinating the construction of the full line –Area A (south of Iliff to south of Exposition) Abilene St. from Iliff Ave.to Mississippi Ave. –Set up traffic control –Work along east side of Abilene to change grade at driveway –Removals

7 Ongoing Construction Coordination RTD and Kiewit hold several weekly discipline task force meetings to coordinate construction of the full line. Task force meetings include: –Subcontractor Client Coordination –Internal Task Managers –Construction/Design Coordination –Design Scheduling –Civil/Track/Traffic –Drainage/Wet Utilities –Utility Coordination –Systems –Construction –Structures –Right of Way (ROW) –Environmental –Architecture/Mechanical Electrical Plumbing (MEP)/Landscaping –Design

8 The Montview Station is planned to be located in the center of the Anschutz/Fitzsimons Medical Campus. Coordination and discussions are ongoing with the University of Colorado and the Fitzsimmons Redevelopment Authority regarding the transfer of property, cost responsibility of Montview Avenue roadway improvements, and light rail alignment along Montview on the Fitzsimons campus. 9 The project team is currently conducting the ROW property acquisition process This project is a design-build so notifications take place concurrently with design; acquisition needs are determined as design is finalized Kiewit has contracted with a company that specializes in ROW acquisition; property acquisitions are underway and will continue through mid-2014 The below diagram details the process. Due to the design-build process of the project, notifications and appraisals are handled by TRS ROW Process

11 I-225 Lane Shifts I-225 highway traffic shifts are planned for spring/summer. –Phase 1C Estimated to begin in early May Will shift SB traffic to new SB pavement –Phase 2 Estimated to begin in late June Will shift NB traffic to SB side; all traffic will run on the SB side
