Political Cartoons To truly understand a political cartoon you must first understand several components: -Who is depicted -What is the meaning behind the objects/ theme -Knowledge of current day issues -what do the words say vs the tone (is it sarcastic, alarmist, factual, etc) -What is the Author’s intended audience and meaning
