“Stocklage Plus” Turning roughage into high quality feed By: Rosendahl Farms Seed and Feed – Columbus, NE
2
The “Second Crop” project initially was a joint effort “Sustainable” harvest TransportStorageConversion Feedstock improvement Improved tillage, planting and harvest Biofuel production Animal feed Large scale joint work Individual research scale work “Second Crop” is licensed to Rosendahl Farms Seed and Feed under “Stocklage Plus”
3
Two trials over a 4 year period of corn on corn showed 15-17 bu/acre advantage with partial stover removal
5
Turning roughage into high quality feed “Stocklage Plus” process makes feedstuff around 30% more digestible to beef rumen
6
Here’s how it works: 1.It starts with residue, such as corn stover or wheat straw 2.Bales are ground 3.Stover is treated with a hydrated lime formula – “Stocklage Plus” process 4.After five to seven days, “Stocklage Plus” - treated crop residue can be fed to cattle. After 10 days, it should be stored anaerobically 5.Cattle receive nutritional benefits from a cost- effective ration of treated stover plus distillers grains

Application Process This is our new system used in the application of hydrated lime. This applicator gives a more consistent coverage during treatment.
9
By treating with “Stocklage Plus” you eliminate these costs: Wet Bales Moldy Bales Broken Bales Fire
10
Eliminate storage & extra handling costs - $20/ton
11
Eliminate costs and go directly to a ready to feed product
12
Untreated Stocks This is a bunk with untreated stocks being fed to cows. How much is lost …? Your costs…?
13
With “Stocklage Plus”, the results feed your bottom line.
