1 IMPACT SAMR Cover Sheet Task OverviewLearning Objective(s)Suggested Technology Students will create a Prezi to show an example of different solutions. TLW solve multi-step equations. TLW give examples of linear equations with one solution, no solution or infinitely many solutions. Students will watch a short video and create examples of linear equations TLW solve multi-step equations. TLW give examples of linear equations with one solution, no solution or infinitely many solutions. Computer/iPads Blackboard. Students will match equations to solutions as quickly as possible. TLW solve multi-step equations. TLW identify examples of linear equations with one solution, no solution or infinitely many solutions. Students will solve equations and use answers to construct a face. TLW solve multi-step equations. TLW identify examples of linear equations with one solution, no solution or infinitely many solutions. Ipad QR code Louisiana Math Standard (include description): 8.EE.C.7a-Give examples of linear equations in one variable with one solution, infinitely many solutions, or no solutions. Show which of these possibilities is the case by successively transforming the given equation into simpler forms, until an equivalent equation of the form x = a, a = a, or a = b results (where a and b are different numbers). 2 Students will solve equations and use answers to construct a face. 1.Using scratch paper, solve and check all problems on handout. 2.Based upon your answers, construct face. 3.Once completed, pick up Ipad. 4.Use the appropriate passcode to unlock. 5.Go to Settings. 6.Click on Wi-Fi and select CPSB secure. 7.Login using your username and password for AR. 8.After successful login, close setting. 9.Open QR code reader. 10.Scan QR code on board and follow the link see if your facial features correctly matches the image. 11.After checking you face, click on Settings again. 12.Click on Wi-Fi and then click on “Forget Network”. 13.Appropriately put away Ipad. 14.Make corrections if needed and use colored pencils to be creative! This task uses: Making faces handout Scratch paper Colored pencils Ipad QR code Learning Objective(s): TLW solve multi-step equations. TLW identify examples of linear equations with one solution, no solution or infinitely many solutions. S SUBSTITUTION Technology acts a direct substitute, with no functional improvement Making Faces

3 Students will match equations to solutions as quickly as possible. 1.Pick up an Ipad and scratch paper. 2.Use appropriate passcode to unlock. 3.Turn on the Ipad and go to Settings. 4.Click on Wi-Fi and select CPSB secure. 5.Login using your username and password for AR. 6.After successful login, close setting and open Safari. 7.Type in the following address: http://www.superteachertools.us/speedmatch/speedmatch.php?gamefil e=7610 http://www.superteachertools.us/speedmatch/speedmatch.php?gamefil e=7610 8.Make sure to read “How to Play” in the yellow box before beginning. 9.After reading “How to Play”, click on “Let’s Play Speed Match!” or “Play Now!” 10.Use the scratch paper to solve the equations. 11.After completing the game, raise your hand so that I can check your score and record the time of completion. 12.Close Safari and click on Settings again. 13.Click on Wi-Fi and then click on “Forget Network”. 14.Make sure your name is on scratch paper and turn in tray. 15.Appropriately put away Ipad. This task uses: Computer Index cards Learning Objective(s): TLW solve multi-step equations. TLW identify examples of linear equations with one solution, no solution or infinitely many solutions.. A AUGMENTATION Technology acts as a direct tool for substitution with some functional improvement. Speed Match

4 Solutions to Linear Equations 1.Log on a computer. 2.On the desktop, click on the video entitled “Solutions to Linear Equations”. 3.After watching the video, you and your partner answer the following question on the attached index card: Do you think all linear equations have one solution? Why or why not? 4.Based on the video, make up three SIMPLE equations with: one solution infinitely many solutions no solutions 5.Log into Blackboard and go to your Math Teacher’s Website. 6.Click on the Discussion Board tab. 7.Click on the Discussion Board forum, Solutions to Linear Equations. 8.Select your best problem and post it as a new thread. DO NOT PROVIDE THE SOLUTION. 9.Now, select another problem that was posted by another student and work out their problem. Click on reply to post your answer. Remember our rule, No work, No credit so be sure to explain how you arrived at your answer. You may use the ipad and take a screenshot of your work if you would like. 10.Check back frequently to see if someone answered your problem. If so, provide them with constructive feedback. Students will watch a short video and create examples of linear equations. This task uses: Computer/ipads Blackboard Learning Objective(s): TLW solve multi-step equations. TLW give examples of linear equations with one solution, no solution or infinitely many solutions. M MODIFICATION Technology allows for the creation of new tasks that were previously not conceivable

5 What is your solution? 1.Create an equation that will have one solution, no solution, or infinitely many solutions. 2.On scratch paper, solve and check the equation. 3.Translate your equation into a sentence. 4.Pick up an Ipad. 5.Use the appropriate passcode to unlock. 6.Find the Prezi icon and click on it. 7.Create a Prezi presentation to represent your equation. 8.Prezi requirements: 4 – 6 frames Frames need to have a title, the equation, what type of solution, and the equation written as a sentence. Additional frames could include graphics, audio, and/or video. 9. Save prezi as Prezi_January(Period)_ID Example: Prezi_January1_001234 10. Appropriately put away Ipad. Students will create a Prezi to show an example of different solutions. This task uses: Learning Objective(s): TLW solve multi-step equations. TLW give examples of linear equations with one solution, no solution or infinitely many solutions. R REDEFINITION Technology allows for the creation of new tasks that were previously not conceivable
