6 Yalecrest Neighborhood Council Board Of Directors (rev Apr 2012) YNC Board Elections June 3, 2015 (5 Board members) The purpose of the Council shall be – to promote a positive, cultural and physical environment that aids the community members in obtaining a meaningful, geographic identity; – to encourage positive relationships among the members of the community; – to pursue other objectives that are beneficial to residents of the Yalecrest Neighborhood. 5 Board of Directors – Secretary/Treasurer (1): attendance of 3 meetings per year – Vice Chair (2): attendance of 3 meetings per year – Chair (1): attendance of 5 meetings per year and previous year as Board member – Past Chair (1): immediate last Chair Term – 1 year June – June – No more than 2 consecutive calender years

7 Responsibilities of Board of Directors Chair – Principal Officer of Council, Subject to Council’s control – Supervise/conduct of Council Business Affairs – Presides over Council Meeting agendas – Represents/Appoints Council on all committees and orgainzations – Informs and implements Board decisions Vice Chair – Assume duties of chairperson in her/his absence Secretary/Treasurer – Maintains books/records of the Council, incl meeting minutes, banking accounts – File annual reports with the State of Utah and SLC Recorder to maintaining standing as a non-profit/ recognized organization. Past Chair – carry out the directives of the Council and the Board.

8 Yalecrest Neighborhood Council Board Of Directors Nominations rev Apr 2012 Nominations – Eligibility: attendance of at least 3 meetings per previous calender year Check with libbyhpetersen@gmail.comlibbyhpetersen@gmail.com – Nomination from floor or telephone or email to Sec/Treas Voting – Held in the June meeting – 3 votes per attending council member Chair Vice Chair Sec/Treas – Secret Ballot Counted by at least 2 persons appointed by outgoing Chair or by other officers not nominated for Board position. Tie: for 2 candidates, decision by coin toss Tie for multiple candidates, run off election No proxy voting is allowed – Nominee with majority of votes is elected to that position Those Vice-Chair nominees who received the #1 and #2 highest votes are the Co-Chairs

9 Council Member All person over 18 years of age residing within that section in SLC bounded by – East side of 1300 East to the west side of 1900 East and from Sunnyside Ave (800 South) to the north side of 1300 South, – regardless of sex, age, race, color, religion or national origin. – Each member has 1 vote or ballot at every regular/special meeting.
