Required Time Required amount of time for Social Studies Kindergarten – 3 rd Grade 55 minutes a day (1/2 of the 9 weeks) or 275 minutes a week (1/2 of the 9 weeks) Both social studies and science must be taught within the 9 weeks period 4 th and 5 th Grade 30 minutes a day or 150 minutes a week Must be taught daily
