3 DBHAC Objectives I. Provide guidance and coordination of resources on Virginia emergency preparedness objectives and state and federal requirements that address behavioral health workforce related issues to include appropriate training, protocols, and support needs of public health, behavioral health and volunteer workforce. II. Address state agency grant requirements for behavioral health.

4 DBHAC Objectives III. Assess needs and provide recommendations for behavioral health planning regarding disaster preparation, response, recovery and mitigation to emergency preparation and response management. IV. Advise VERT External Affairs and others as needed in risk communications planning to be sure stress issues for the public are addressed in messaging. V. Maintain communication network for disaster behavioral health partners in Virginia.

5 DBHAC Initiatives DBHDS hired a part time EPR coordinator Review and revisions to COVEOP ESF 8, ESF6 and FAC Plans Incorporation of DBH into exercises Creation of state level Disaster Response Team (DRT) Training DBHDS DRT Workgroup developing training for all volunteers and employees involved in response DBH volunteers and employees
