Places to go in the city 1. Using the city map with a partner, record the grid reference for the following city destinations: Rod Laver Arena Melbourne Museum Crown Entertainment Complex Etihad Stadium Melbourne Aquarium AAMI Park Federation Square Docklands 2. Choose 3 places on the map and record their grid reference.

Using a key 1.Record the grid reference for the information centres. 2.Record the grid references for at least 3 theatres. 3.If I am travelling from Southern Cross Station to Flinders Street Station along Collins Street. How many Bike Share Stations will I pass? 4.Record the grid reference for two stops where you can get board the free City Circle tram.

A day in the city You have decided to spend a day in the city seeing the sights. You will have time to visit four different places in the city.

Step 1 Choose the four places you will visit and record their grid reference. Step 2 Beginning and ending at Flinders Street Station, decide on the order that you will visit each place.

Step 3 Estimate and the calculate the distance you will need to walk from one place to another. Using the scale, work out the time it will take to walk from one place to another. Present your work in a table. Step 4 Calculate the total distance of you trip and time spent walking to your destinations.

Step 5 Write instructions for walking to each of your destinations on your trip.
